Enhancing learning

The College offers a range of services to enhance a students learning and wellbeing. These include

  • As a member of the Associated Catholic Colleges (ACC), students have the opportunity to compete with other schools in a variety of sports such as football, hockey, cricket, basketball, athletics, swimming, table tennis and golf. At specific times, debating and chess are also available.
  • St. Joseph 's offers an instrumental music program and a chance to be part of the College band
  • The chance to work with other schools on major entertainment productions
  • Homework and tutoring support after school in core subjects
  • Confidential student counselling services and access to the College Chaplain
  • Building Positive Relationships and anti bullying programs
  • The Learning Support Centre
  • Membership to a variety of short term after school activity groups which may include bocce, Futsal, journalism, drama and the Book Club
  • Student leadership opportunities through the Prefects, SRC and House Captains groups
  • Social and Community service programs
  • The College 'House' system and mixed Pastoral Care grouping
  • A s pecialised Year 7 Transition program during Semester one
Facilities

Likewise a range of facilities are provided across the College to support students in their learning. These include

  • Two well stocked library's with large fiction collections
  • Five 'class size' computer labs and five computer 'pods'
  • Two full size Materials Technology workshops for wood and metalcrafting
  • An Engineering lab
  • Three Science Laboratories
  • A music / keyboard lab
  • Two chapels
  • Two visual and graphic arts workshops
